Terms and conditions of participation

Nationalities - Age limit - Registration fees

The competition is open to composers of all nationalities with no age limit and without registration fees.

Submitted Works

The submitted works must not have been previously published, performed, broadcasted or awarded at a different competition.

The duration of the work

The contestants will submit one work for ensemble that must last between 8 and 10 minutes. The duration of the piece must be written on the score.

5. Horn
6. Mezzo-soprano
7. Violin
8. Viola

9. Violoncello

10. Double Bass

The use of electronics or solo instruments is not permitted.

About the call

  • 1 category: Chamber music only, excluding electronics (solo, mixed, live)

  • 7-10 performers 

  • 2 juries: the 1st one (preliminary) will be Greeks only to generate a “short-list” and the 2nd international.

  • Duration: 8′-10’ for each piece

  • Final concert: 3 award winning pieces, (mixed program by the ensemble IFE).

  • No age, nationality etc limitations

  • No participant’s fee

Deadline

The submission deadline is 31 August 2022, NEW DEADLINE: 4 September 2022, 23:59, and in order to be considered as final, there must be an electronic submission.

Legible and Anonymous

The musical score must be perfectly legible and anonymous, marked only with the title of the work and a 6 – digit code. If there is any proof of the candidate’s identity, the work will be automatically eliminated of the process.

Awards

There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranking Rethinking:Xenakis 2022 prizes.
